SAM58 30 #1 Posted June 22, 2010 I am looking for a replacment transmission for a 1972 Raider 12 6 speed 1-1/8" axles. I am going to rebuild mine, but finding time in the next month or so is the problem. I manage a Oilfield & Drilling Rig supply store here in Kentucky, really busy. If i could find a good trans to get my horse going, the rebuild will be a winter project. I would like one from a C-160 with the 8 pinion diff. but any 6 - 8 speed that will bolt up will do. Perhaps someone has a rebuilt one that they would let go. Friday I am going to Vacate and drive to Gettysburg, Pa for a swap meet/ WH show but how can you tell if a used trans is any good or would i be just buying someone elses problem? My Raider has ran so good for so long, I have not had to deal with a trans problem before... i made a hub puller, and one came off, one i had to cut off because it broke in the middle. Just get to work on it a little when i can. thanks any Ideas?
rmaynard 15,675 #2 Posted June 22, 2010 I am going to have a 103907 8-speed at the show for sale. It is from a working 1977 B-80. All of the 1977 8-Speed B-80, B-100, C-120, and C-160's had this 8-pinion tranny. It is not rebuilt, but I will include a gasket, and seals with the purchase.
