Rollerman 290 #1 Posted September 21, 2007 Here's a pic of a 312A I nabbed this weekend....well wife wrote the check Anyways 42" SD deck & has a "Pico" vacume attachment on back that bolts directly to the tractor. Works out a lot better than the trac vac cart in my yard. Stephen in northern IN
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,507 #2 Posted September 21, 2007 Nice. What year is that one? Except for the hood louvers it looks like my '98 314-8. I'm envious of the hubcaps as mine doesn't have any.
nylyon-(Admin) 7,294 #3 Posted September 21, 2007 Very nice, that deck seems a different color though. Anyway, best park it in the garage, I hear that Eldon is looking for some louvers.... :D
CasualObserver 3,408 #4 Posted September 21, 2007 Nice lookin' addition! Old decks on newer tractors... gotta love to see that! It's a true testament to the intelligent design and interchangeability of attachments and implements. :D
Rollerman 290 #5 Posted September 21, 2007 I have not checked to on the year yet....ID tag is there..just lazy? The deck that came with the tractor was sprung...best way I could describe it. Paint was great & looked nice. But with everything where it's supposed to be at the right side was tilling & the left was mowing very low! So far only dissapointment...so I stuck another 42" SD deck on it. I think I like it better than the 520!...steering is lighter & I like the control lever setup on it better than the 520. I have no manual so still in the dark on the light duty Eaton tranny? With the vac on & running it realy mows nice!! kj4kicks 152 #7 Posted September 21, 2007 See there, I learn something new every day. I wasn't aware that other models also had the louvers. Better keep her locked up ! LOL. Nice looking ride there Stephen! Seems the old attachments were built to last for "generations", and they do. Just glad they didn't change the bolt holes. Eldon. Rollerman 290 #8 Posted September 21, 2007 Yeah it all because of Wheel Horses "quick tach" setup? That deck is off a 74 16Auto...not sure when they started it...but everything interchanges because of. The louvered hoods were found on 312's,417's,516's, & of course the 520's Stephen in northern IN.....off to pave again
