dgjks6 6 #1 Posted June 15, 2010 Sorry if this has been asked before, but... My wife is working next weekend and I want to come to the show. She gave me permission to come and bring the kids. Are the hotels nearby or should I camp out? If I camp out what do I need? Can I bring the dog? I will probably come out Thursday after work. Is 10pm too late to arrive? Butch 194 #2 Posted June 15, 2010 I don't know if there are motels nearby but many, or should I say most, camp in RVs, trailers, car trailers and tents. I slept in the back seat of my F250 with my feet hanging out the door! If it's not buggy I'm gonna sleep in the bed of the truck this year. I don't know if 10 o'clock is late but we don't have our hot dog roast until 11 PM. Ya might wanna study a road map before ya come. It might be hard to find at night. Several people had dogs. There were also lots of kids there. There is also hot food on site catered by a local church. Bathrooms were clean and the bathrooms at the far end may have had showers in those. Not sure. If you park under the trees expect it to get covered with a lot of sap. Surprisingly it washed off easy. That's about all I can think of. Butch S. stevasaurus 22,738 #3 Posted June 16, 2010 Sell the kids...bring the dog...or trade the kids for a cooler and a lawn chair. Read some of the threads below this one...it is all there. Come and have a good time and meet some good people. Bring the kids. :wh:

dgjks6 6 #11 Posted June 19, 2010 OK - so I am going to try to bring this back on topic I have called the guy for camping and have not been able to get in touch with him. If I bring a big tent and 7 sleeping bags can I just show up around 6pm on Thursday and rent a spot then or do I need to get in touch with them first? Kids really want to stay in a tent. How much food do I need to bring? Do they have food for sale for dinner thursday and all day friday? Oh - and from what I gather a buch of flash lights also. C-Series14 15 #12 Posted June 19, 2010 You will pitch the tent where you feel like! It is basically first come, first serve. Last year, I pulled in, paid my $20, and proceeded to find me a spot and parked. I stay in my enclosed trailer. There are people in travel trailers and there are people in little one man tents. There are even those who slept in there vehicles! I had several guys by me in those little tents. As far as food, I bring a cooler with my Mt. Dew and and water. I then bring something to snack on. The food there is served by a local church group and is pretty good. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I can't remember if they are open on thursday or not, someone else will know... As far as bringing my dog, I wish I could but seeing how is is a high powered frisbee catching machine, I would spend all day and night throwing the dang frisbee!!! :D
