Front mount Reel mower pics?

Recommended Posts

H8 TO WORK

Hi guys! so I'm a new WH owner, I just picked up a 1960 Suburban with a front mount reel mower. It is missing the rear rollers and mount bar, also the front wheel castors have been booty fabbed and I'd like to eather find original parts to replace them or fab as close to orig as posible. Any pics or links to pics you have would be great or point me towards some parts would be even better. Thanks in advance.

For the rear wood rollers go to the kitchen and pull out your wife's rolling pin. I've cut up wood rolling pins with great success, they are about the correct diameter, fairly cheap and look great once mounted.

Are you looking for the mounting plates and mounting bar which runs under the tractor?

And as always :D

go to the kitchen and pull out your wife's rolling pin.

One word of caution if you do this.

Hide the iron skillet until she cools off!

Oh yea! :D

H8, :USA: !

Those front swiveling wheels look like they could be fabbed up pretty easy if you could find a set of the swivel casters they insert into the bottom of construction staging to roll it around. Might have to tinker with the post the caster is mounted to, but I'll bet something could be made to work!

First off, thank you all for the welcome!

the rolling pin idea is a great one and I will be on looking for some to chop up!

The mount plates are there but no bar or rollers.

My reel mower is a little differant, but very similer, I'll get pics up soon.

My castors are made of flat stock welded on a 45 to the round bar with a hole drilled for the wheel, those are more what I imagined what they should look like.

I may have the bar you are looking for and it's already been restored. Does the one you need look like this one? If it is, send me a PM or Email.

Mike is correct, that bar is for a front mount real mower.

I sold a complete early style reel set up to Stevebo, he's got the entire set up, including the bar Mike has pic'd above. Where-U-B-At Steve?

Mike that looks like a mounting bar? if so thats not what I'm after but thanks, I'm looking for the bar that the rollers are on at the rear of the mower with rollors if someone has it. my reel mower is attached and working just with no rollors and booty fabbed front caster wheels and I'd like to make it proper.

Then what you are looking for is a Roller Shaft and Rollers for what appears to be an LMR-301 Reel Mower. Can't help you there.
