Cessna 1 #1 Posted June 14, 2010 Where does the drive belt go at the idler pulley? Does it go over or under it?
rickv1957 72 #2 Posted June 14, 2010 Which tractor do you have, more than likely the belt goes under the pulley on a automatic and over on a stick shift,Rick
MikesRJ 552 #3 Posted June 14, 2010 Another good indicator is if the idler is flat, or v-grooved. Pretty self explanatory there ... When you depress the Clutch/Brake pedal, which direction does the idler move? If up, put the idler on top of the belt; If down, put the idler under the belt. Pushing the pedal should remove belt tension.
Cessna 1 #4 Posted June 14, 2010 I should have said that this an 8 speed. It is on a Workhorse GT 1142. I need to fix it up so that I can start on another project.
MikesRJ 552 #5 Posted June 14, 2010 For a GT-1142, I believe it goes under the belt. If I remember correctly the idler pulley goes down when the clutch is depressed.
