Tecumseh HH160 Starter issues

Hi Folks,

I now have a Techumseh HH160 on my Commando, and I have issues with the starter motor. It spins, when the key is turned, but the gear wont "flick" out to the flywheel to start it.

Is the Starter shot, or is there other electrical issue?

Any ideas welcome.

Maybe just a little cleaning and a shot of WD40 on the starter drive will get you going,Rick

Simon and if Ricks idea doesnt work youre looking at a starter drive most of the time what Rick said will work

Thanks for your help, I have tried cleaning it with WD, but no success, maybe it needs a bit more, and I will also clean the inside.

Work drive gear back and forth on worm gear,it should move freely,Rick
