Charger 10 parking brake adjustment

Recommended Posts

OK, I'll admit that I haven't bought a manual yet, but I figure the parking brake can't be that hard to adjust, can it?

My tractor will hold a hill going forward with the parking brake on, but not backward; it will roll slowly over me while hitching a trailer if the hill is even slight.

How is this adjusted?

Park brake is non adjustable,on the sunstrand trans most park pawls in trans have been ground off over the years where they dont work right or not at all,you have to open trans to repair or replace pawl,Rick

OOOOOOhh, so the parking brake relies on the transmission hydraulics? Is it common or possible that in my case, these "pawls" wore in one direction (allowing movement in reverse), and not the other?

Park has nothing to do with hyds,it relies on a mechanical stop between the teeth on a trans gear when park brake is set ,Rick
