NYRedNeck 4 #1 Posted June 6, 2010 Hi All, I have been speaking with a guy who has a C-195 and wants to get rid of it. I may have some interest. Some say that parts for this tractor are in high demand and very difficult to find. Is that correct? Any 195 owners out there? Can anyone offer any facts or opinions? Thank guys
hodge 6 #2 Posted June 6, 2010 I don't know much about them, but if the price is right, you should jump on it. There are enough of them that you could find the parts. The 195 is sought after, and you will probably kick yourself later if it is a good deal and you don't get it. Unless you pay an outrageous price, you should at any time be able to sell it and recoup your money.
rickv1957 72 #3 Posted June 6, 2010 The C195 is a great tractor, mosts all parts can be found but something like a 3 pt lift is scarce, Rick
C-Series14 15 #4 Posted June 7, 2010 Like Rick said, 3 pt. parts, especially the top link mount, which is NLA. Amazingly, the top pivot arm assembly is still available! The arms and cylinder from a D-Series will work. Another rare item is the rear PTO. SO, if you want a nice, big tractor that is fairly "rare", it is the one. Called the "Super C", it is a whole different beast. I think there were several at last years show...including mine, which will make the trip again to keep an eye on his little brothers... :D
NYRedNeck 4 #5 Posted June 7, 2010 Found out a bit more about the tractor. The guy is the original owner, says he bought it new in 86 i think. Has 3 pt lift, no pto. comes with a 5ft deck. He has a york rake for it as well, however that was not considered for sale or trade. Could anyone put an average value for just the tractor with the deck? C-Series14 15 #6 Posted June 7, 2010 Made from 1982-1984. Value is a tough question. Location, condition, and several other things affect the price. I paid $950 for a 1982 with a deck and blade. It was on EBay and nobody bid! If you look in the pic gallery, you will see a pic.

It is supposedly well maintained and cared for, but used. Could it be worth 1500 or more with the york rake? I am looking to trade a Ford 8N for his C195. The N is worth app 1500- 1800. It is original 6 volt system, starts right up, smokes a little, may need a little work on the 3pt hitch, pto works and straight sheet metal, no rust.
C-Series14 15 #8 Posted June 7, 2010 Well, if the deck is in good shape, along with the 3 pt. and yark rake, and the tractor runs good and looks good, I would say that is in the ballpark!

rickv1957 72 #11 Posted June 7, 2010 That price would not scare me away either for a nice C195,I also have my 84 model in the photo gallery,Rick
NYRedNeck 4 #12 Posted June 7, 2010 The Guy says, he will trade me either the WH with the deck and york rake. Even swap for the 8N, or... The WH with the deck, minus the york rake, but he will also give me a Case 448 with Deck and Plow. He is not sure the condition of the Case.. Looks good and clean but has not started it since he has aquired it. Hmmmm??? Decisions???? Thanks for the input guys, I am undecided I already have a nice 8N Sooo.... :D

jaydeer 14 #14 Posted June 11, 2010 Hope you get your c195. I now have seven of them and am always looking for more. The price of around 1500.00 with a three point is not great but not bad, shouldnt scare you away if it is in nice condition. Check the hours meter and engine. I have to agree if it is in good shape with no mechanical issues do the swap!

His C 195 with the 5 ft mower, and a spare mower. He will also give me the 5 ft York brand, york rake. I have not seen the c-195 yet, not even a photo. The guy swears it is will taken care of. He says, it does not have as much power as it did when new. Not sure what that is supposed to mean? The 8N is worth about 1800. min. So his end needs to be about the same. NYRedNeck 4 #17 Posted June 11, 2010 If I can get him to throw the Case 446 (unknown condition) into the mix, it will seal the deal. :D
