shallowwatersailor 3,213 #1 Posted June 6, 2010 Hello Everyone, I am in the midst of moving to Central Maryland from Northeast Illinois this week as a trailing spouse where I am a MS teacher fulfilling my contract. My wife works for a non-profit in the DC Area and has been in MD since November. We have a two-acre wooded lot so I knew that I would need some equipment. Many weekends were spent researching and doing a number of scenarios for purchases. I am now the proud owner of a 1998 Toro Wheel Horse 518xi which led me to the forum. The house came with a "Red" 1981 Cub Cadet 582 Special (one of the last production) that had been put out to pasture and had planned on restoring, but now I plan on looking for a Wheel Horse project(s) instead! I also need attachments for the 5xi. My hobbies include raifanning, model trains, R/C boats and now the new house. Yes, I am a former Coastie hence my moniker. Redbird 1 #3 Posted June 6, 2010 HI! And---- ------- I'm in Maryland, too, near Frederick. We are having a meet and greet here July 17th-Sat and maybe into Sunday. It's nice to see some people from Maryland geting involved here at REDSQUARE. I can only say 1 thing about Wheel Horses................. I hope you have a LOT of room, and also, that the wife understands 'cause 1 or 2 "horses" will NEVER be enough! PS... you can find a little more info on our meet and greet here at our house, in the RedSquare Herd section. If you need any help with anything---- the number of members and knowlege is immense! So, just ask. Hope you can make the Wheel Horse show on the 26th & 27th of this month, too.
rmaynard 15,455 #5 Posted June 6, 2010 Hello and welcome aboard. I too am a former Coastie. I live in New Windsor, MD. There is a RedSquare member from PA that refers to me as the Puddle Pirate, but what does he know, he was only in the Navy. Where do you live in Maryland? I am planning to attend Redbird's meet and great in July, so maybe we could get to meet you. Bob
