Old SB 421 in action

The yard he's mowing took over 4 hrs to push mow. The 42" mower on the 421 cut his time in half. He's a happy camper. He's developing a respect for WH quality. It's great to see him taking pride in his work. In these pics it haddn't been mowed for about 3 weeks due to rain then final exams at school.

Never seen or heard of a SB 421. What year is it, is it like a B or C series? :USA:

Did some digging and found pics of the 486 or the 12hp Kohler version.

As I understand it, it was a one year tractor, 82 I think, maybe 84. It had a 11hp B&S motor, was red, and had the older style longish hood. I think it had the 1" rear end too. I bought it used with a 42" deck and dozer blade then used it like it was my motherinlaw's. After several years the B&S wore out so I remotored it with a 12hp Kohler from Northern. It's been a good one.

Tractor Data says SB 421 .............1982-1982....B & S Motor.....8 Speed..... an calls it a lawn tractor.

I need to contact them. My OE operator's manual shows 3 SBs being built. There is a 371 3spd lawn tractor, the 421 and 486, both 8spd garden tractors. That a great site with lots of good info but sometimes they don't get it right.
