Am i missing a Pully? B-100

About 20 yrs ago I bought a re-conned B100 and it has been a great work horse. I noticed this spring that my drive belt was slipping pretty bad. It was badly worn and cracked. I picked up a new direct replacement and installed it. Although it seemed awfully loose it surprisingly work pretty well for a couple of months. I even yanked a bunch of big hedges out of the ground. But now it started slipping so bad I can barely get the tractor to move. After removing the covers I again realize this belt is way too loose. It just can't be right. I measured again to the old one and it's the same. I know my engine did not move. After thinking about it for a while I thought that the only thing that makes sense is that I'm missing another pulley and it looks like the only place it could go is on the engine.

I can't find any parts manuals anywhere to verify. Toro doesn't seem to have much anymore. Can anyone help? Verification,location, pictures, part numbers(will need the bolt also), anything? Thanks!!

B-100 8-speed? If so, there is a 4" pulley on the engine, a 4" v-idler on the clutch arm, and a 6-1/2" pulley on the tranny. That's it.

V-belt comes off the top of the engine pulley, over the top of the v-idler, over the top and around the tranny pulley, comes from the bottom of the tranny pulley back to the engine.

Theres only 3 pulleys, one on the engine, one on the tranny, and the idler pulley which moves when the clutch pedal is pushed. I wonder if the bearing in the idler pulley is shot and its preventinmg the idler pulley from putting full pressure on the belt.

Or maybe the clutch spring has lost its "spring" tension?

Its on the left side of the tractor( when sitting on it) and is easily inspectable. Will the tractor move better if you pull the clutch pedal back with your boot?

Those are the 3 I have. Clutch is back as far as it will go. Belt is so loose I can pull the bottom up and it easily crosses the top. Belt is 5/8" x 82".

Yes it's 8 spd. After more examination I notice that there is some play in the pivot of the clutch pulley arm. If I move it forward it moves the clutch pedal but I can move it backwards quite a bit before the pedal side moves at all. Think I have a parts picture of this linkage on my PC somewhere. Will get back. Thanks for the help so far.

The arm that the idler pulley is attached to is connected to a rod that passes through the frame. The end of the rod that is on the clutch pedal side, attaches to the clutch rod arm(where the spring attaches). That is attached to the rod that passes through the frame by means of a roll pin. If the pin has come out, the arm will slip.

Seems like it is with the pin that holds the clutch rod arm to the shaft on the pedal side. Looks like it might be in one side of the clutch rod arm and not the other. Probably broke. Must be just enough catching to work in one direction and not the other. I'm confused but if this old guy has any energy left today I'll get it off. Was prying at it and it moved outward quite a bit. It's not the easiest location to work on.

Oh, It is the Toro site that has the parts picture of this and the brake linkage.

Confirmed! Broken roll pin. Amazed it worked as well as it did for as long as it did. Been giving me intermittent problem for quite some time. Always blamed it on the belt. Cheap fix anyway. Thanks all again!!

Mine broke on the C-100. It caused me all kinds of grief until I figured it out.
