oil filter

Guys, I would like to purchase a new oil filter for my 417a tractor on my way home today .Any idea what the number would be? I could stop by a napa store it is a kohler engine

I have a 1986 417A. On my cheat sheet I show Toro filter 79-5270 which replaced number 1083350. Not sure how that relates to Napa but just make sure they know it is a transmission filter.

thanks but it is a motor filter that I need unless you are telling me they are the same

Jim my 417a does not have a oil filter on the engine. Yours must be different motor.

My engine is model KT17QS ser # 15115845. No filter(wish it did). The oil filter is mounted on the left side under seat as you look at it from the rear.

Meant to say the Transmission filter is on the left side under the seat area as you look at it from the rear.

im not sure of the model/serial i will check tonite when i get home thanks by the way is yours a kohler 2 cylinder

Yes...four-cycle, twin cylinder, air-cooled.
