1967 607 hood ornament and other misc parts

Hi,

Can someone please help me. I was helping my son take the 607 apart for paint when I broke one of the 2 things that the grommet (?) attaches to. I am so bummed, here is Dad helping out and I screwed up big time. :D This happened right after I told him you have to be really careful with these. :USA:

I am also looking for the seat latch for it, the latch still works but the rubber end is broke off, will look kinda bad if we are not able to get a new one.

The rear lift I think all I need is a new cable. The end near the back is still there, the prior owner I think had broken the cable and just put a metal bar from the lift to a bolt hole on the rear end, not a bad idea but it's a cool feature that I would like to help him get working.

Any ideas on resolving these issues are greatly appreciated.

Thanks !

Not sure what tractor model you have ( I never heard of a 607 in 1967 or any other year) but it would help if you posted pictures of what you have and what is borken for Red Square members to assist with your question and possible repalcement parts, etc.

:D

A 607 is a 1967 pull start 6hp tecumseh powered short frame tractor, if you broke the pin off the hood ornament you can get one off ebay they are all the same, as for the seat latch, I have never seen that style with rubber on it? post some pictures.

Are you sure the lift cable is broken? My 857 had a steel bar connecting the slot hitch to a bolt on the transmission to lock the hitch in place. The lift cable was not connected to the hitch in back or the rockshaft up front, however the complete cable was there. The front part of the cable was just hanging free in front of the tranny. I think the steel bar is a Wheel Horse part used to hold the slot hitch in place so it can be used as a drawbar hitch for pulling trailers. :D

Hi, thanks for the responses

I assumed the seat latch had a rubber handle on it that was broken off, here is what I have now

Here is a pic of the lift, again I assume it did not come like this because the bar that is on it appears to have a broken section on the back like someone had taken a bracket off something else and modified it to work for this

It's not the best pic, but here's the hitch lock bar on my 857. Pretty similar to yours. Mine looks to be a WH part. Yours may be a copy? :D

I didn't realize from your first post that you had yours torn down. Is your lift cable actually broken? Let me know if you need me to measure the length of mine.

The seat latch should have a piece of flat metal at the top of it for a "handle", with no rubber knob. It looks to be broken off of yours.

Hi, The lift cable is not there at all, I did not realize they came from the factory like that, I assumed the PO had hacked it when the cable broke. I don't think I need a measurement as this one looks pretty level, I think I may hawk e-bay to see if I can't find the lift cable, other parts I need, does anyone have pics of what the lift looks like under the bar up near the engine?

Thanks for the responses
