bo dawg 516 #1 Posted May 31, 2010 Sorry I'm asking, but I cant find a recent post I read about this same problem someone else had. Which bolt is it that you tighten up to keep the travel lever to hold? It is so loose that it falls all the way forward quickly. I've pop so many unexpected wheelies that I'm afraid one time I will be on my back side and tractor with me ( I've fallen and can't get up) Happy holliday! and Thanks to all who served. TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #4 Posted May 31, 2010 Before you go messing with the friction adjustment, look on the left side (outside) of the "console" for a tab (held by a single bolt) that should be welded to the end of the direction control lever (DCL) pivot shaft. This style of DCL has a tendency to seize to the shaft which breaks the weld loose at the tab. Once the weld breaks, the pivot shaft will rotate with the DCL, and the friction parts will not function. There is also a small woodruff key that locks the friction cone to the pivot shaft. If this key shears, the cone will turn with the DCL assembly and friction will be lost. This might help: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
