Prater 75 #1 Posted May 25, 2010 I was spending some time in the picture archives of the Indy 500 races. There were quite a few wheelhorse pics in the 60's. I ordered 4 8x10 pics for my office. If you make it to the museum, check out the archives on the second floor. I also stoped by a Toro dealer close by and they had a 500 Special and a Suburban on the showroom floor. hcminis 1,573 #2 Posted May 25, 2010 You must have stopped by Henthorn's. They have a very nice 500 Special. Plus a Suburban 400 with a blade. Was just there today getting a new drive belt for my 550 and Stihl weedeater bump head.

CasualObserver 3,410 #5 Posted May 25, 2010 Steven that's one thing I'd like to do... find some time to look through those archives and get some reprints. You'd be amazed what you'll find in the basement of this forum.
Buzz 502 #6 Posted May 25, 2010 Steven that's one thing I'd like to do... find some time to look through those archives and get some reprints. You'd be amazed what you'll find in the basement of this forum. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php/topic/13757-wheel-horses-at-indy/ Looking at those photos again I just noticed that some of the tractors were running ag tires . Would they give you better traction at the Brickyard?
Prater 75 #7 Posted May 25, 2010 Henthorns was the place, the lady inside was very nice and started to tell the story on the 500 but was too busy with customers. I was there around 10:30 AM

hcminis 1,573 #9 Posted May 26, 2010 Just missed you by an hour. Bummer. Yes Ricky is very nice lady and knows Horses pretty well. You should see the two barns in the back. There are hoods hanging from the rafters. They don't even know what they have.
