RJ 3 "mini" 3 point pics

Recommended Posts

A few folks asked me to post some better pics of the itty-bitty 3 point I found on my newest addition last night. Well, here they are:

I have no idea what would be small enough to use with this, but it's pretty neat how the PO made it. Lower arms mount on the rear pivot that the slot hitch rotates on, and the lift links are mounted to a "tounge" and short piece of angle iron that is bolted across it. The top link pivots up and down, riding on a bracket that bolts to the seat spring mount.

The lift arm does lift it up and down, though it is so light that it dosen't lower without stepping on the hitch. Here are full down and up positions:

Again, I don't know what you'd put on it, but it is kinda neat.

I see a miniature two-bottom plow in your fabrication future, Kevin.

Only if you see a "roll over bar" in there with it Terry!

That's why the 1st owner sold it. He claimed to have flipped it over backwards.

Just buy one of those expensive & rare OEM "tombstone" weights for the front (or strap an alligator to the hood) and you won't need to worry.

Besides -- the plows will be like a wheelie bar -- just fasten a shopping cart wheel to the back one and you're all set.

Dang it Terry!

I just spit my drink all over the place!

I'm gonna bring you a gator to the show. If you'll demonstrate the proper procedure (without props, mind you), I'll promise to try it once myself!

Still makes me laugh...

Possibly a :imstupid: idea, but how about an A-frame, like the green guys use, with a clevis hitch center section? Or even a reciever to take a ball or a clevis hitch adapter?

I know, I know.... Sit down and shut up, Greg.....

Actually Greg, the one for my Bronco is almost finished. But, it is much larger than the RJ would carry!

Not quite sure what I'll do with the RJ hitch yet. If I keep it, it'll need a major overhaul. We'll see...

You gotta keep it it's cool, and you will have the only one, and looks like it could be removed with no harm to the tractor, just take it off and spif it up.

I guess Greg's idea of the itty bitty A frame would be kinda different...

I'll have to give it some thought.

Looks like about the right size for the old Sears 6 blade disk, that my grandpa used to use. I'll try to get a pic of it next weekend. I would like to get some dimensions from it for my 400 suburban, It is a cool lookin little 3 point. :thumbs2:

That is cool. I would have to come up with something that could be used on it.

Would a 8 blade like this possibly work with that 3-point??
