StWeiler 6 #1 Posted May 21, 2010 I'm about to buy a D200 from a farmer and I'd like to know if this baby is capable of adding a rear pto? I ask because I'd like to get a tow behind brush cutter, so I need to either be on the look out for an independent driven one or a pto driven one. Either way I'm stoked about finally finding a D series at a price I can afford...and it being in decent enough condition to drag home. Now I just need to find a place to hide it so the wife doesn't see it.

StWeiler 6 #3 Posted May 21, 2010 Well...would you buy it at the price he is asking? ...and thanks for not posting the location directly on here. I've been in the hunt for a D series in Iowa for a long time and am glad to finally have a chance to at least go check it out.

Operator 7 #5 Posted May 22, 2010 If that one doesn't work for you, I've got a D-180 up here for sale. I have it on CL , lots of "lookers"! Randy
bitten 134 #6 Posted May 22, 2010 Are you sure it doesnt have a PTO on it? I thought the D200 came with them. The PTO will spin at 2000 RPMs so you will need to find a Wheel Horse mower since most of the other ones use I think a 600 RPM. Good luck.
pfrederi 17,653 #7 Posted May 22, 2010 Finding a brush hog that will work with the WH PTO speed will be very very difficult...I have a WH 3pt finish mower on my D200 (actually mower was made by Woods labeled and sold by WH) It actually shares a lot of parts with other woods mowers.. One unique thing is the belt drive assembly (no gear box) and it was obviously done to deal with the high speed PTO.. It will cut heavy grass...but it isn't designed to chop down brush. and would not do well at all if rocks and stumps were involved...actually if would be badly damaged.. All of the Cat 0 3 pt brush hogs I have seen are 540...You might find a 1000 rpm one but good luck on the 2000 rpm
