Wheel Horses on Ebay, D-Series specifically

Recommended Posts

RayCo

Hi, new member here. A few years ago, I had a D-200 and an 18 Auto, but I have since sold them. I'm now casually looking for another D series to get. I notice that when I look on Ebay now, I rarely see any D series tractors, and very few Wheel Horses at all. Back when I had my Ds, which really is just about 3-4 years ago, there were always at least a few for sale. Where have they all gone? Is it just a shift away from Ebay, or are these tractors just harder to find now. I'm just surprised at how much the abundance has changed in just a few short years.

I have come across some on Craig's List, but even there, I'll probably wind up driving a few hundred miles when I find the right one.

Is it just me, or have Wheel Horses kinda dropped off the face of the Ebay earth?

Funny how we can have such different perspectives of the same situation...I find myself marvelling at how many WH's are for sale on eBay and Craigslist at any given time. Including D-series stuff.

Many times they might be a few hundred miles away, but there is a lot more stuff out there available - in my estimation - then there was even a few years ago.

I know there are a couple of "old timers" like me on here who remember what it was like back 15 years ago before the net really exploded with WH stuff. I looked for years - literally - before I actually saw my first in-the-flesh D-series which I bought in '97. Since then I have owned a bunch and have encountered scores of them in Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri.

Just keep looking, and don't jump on anything that doesn't meet your needs and desires because new stuff is popping up all the time. :D

PS-I'm in the camp that thinks a lot of prices are down right now :USA: , so there are bargains to h had for he who waits!

Some weeks there are more on the"E" then they peter out, "market fluctuation" :D

Now if you happen to be in my area I just happen to have a D-180 with a 48" deck out in front of my place "FOR SALE" But I don't know :USA: where you are at.

I even have it on CL, at first I didn't have a deck and that is what perspective buyers wanted but I bought a deck this weekend for it.

Keep looking they are out there.

Randy

Think it might be the 9%+ that Fleabay charges to sell something?

Since their rates went up, I sell on Fleabay rarely, since the rate hike.

Time is ripe for a new auction site!. Charge 5% and take all the business they can get!
