The Toolman 22 #1 Posted May 9, 2010 Gettin' ready to rewire under the hood from P.O. patch jobs. Was just wondering if my C-101 with the 10hp K241as uses a resistor wire for the points or coil like the old chevys did? I know a lot of the old stuff run the voltage down to 6 from 12 to make the points last longer an they used an internal resistor built into one of the points or coil wires, where as mopar I believe, used a ballast resistor. Anybody out there rewired an know about this???? :USA:
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted May 9, 2010 The OEM Kohler coil for your particular engine has an internal resistor. Feed it "battery voltage" and it will take care of the rest. :D
