RJ58 Transaxle Oil Type/Qty

Recommended Posts

Docwheelhorse

Hello All,

I have added an RJ58 to my herd and was wondering how much gear oil it holds and whether it is acceptable to put in 80/90. Also... there is a 1/8" pipe plug about 1" up from the bottom on the "passenger" side of the transaxle behind the axle tube. I assume that this is where you check the level of the transaxle when its level... I also found the fill plug in the top of the transaxle. SO---where is the drain plug on this thing or is there none? :D

Thanks

Tony

I use 80/90 in all of mine.

To drain the tranny put the tractor on a slight incline and the case bolt that is lowest on the tranny, remove that to drain the oil.
