perry 82 #1 Posted May 5, 2010 this week i picked up a nice roper and a decent little 657 one mile down the road from me. the allis was close also in the next town over. im guessing the roper is a 1973-74. has a briggs 16hp. witch i think is way better than the sears with the tuckys. this one just needed the points put back in. the guy handed me a brand new set of points/condensor. i mowed grass with it the same day. he is original owner and its in great shape. i have never seen a roper around my area, only the sears tractors. i kinda like this one. maybe greg{pond} can give me some more info and a manual for the roper . the same guy owned the wheel horse since 1973 and allways kept it in the garage. but 2 yrs ago he had to tarp it outside and was pretty bummed to see it faded/rusty. but it runs and mows also. Raider 2 #5 Posted May 7, 2010 Do you have any more pictures of the Mongomery Wards Gilson? We had one just like it when I was a kid and I must have put 1000 hours on it myself mowing/snowblowing/tilling. Seeing it in the background brought back a few memories.
