kpinnc 12,178 #1 Posted September 13, 2007 Not many, but I'll get more up soon. This is my 310-8. Doesn't look like one, but it is. I put new front wheels (8 inch) on it, new seat, new steering wheel, all new paint and decals (I like the newer classic decals), rebuilt the engine, and even replaced the wiring harness. This was actually one of the only two "cheapies" I have so far. I gave $50 for this tractor, and put about $500 into it. It was also my first restoration. It's a 1987 model, but since it was my first resto, I didn't pay much attention to it being correct. As good as she looks, I wish I had stuck to original decals at least, but even now I don't know where to get them for a newer model. Ed mayhew doesn't even make the correct ones for it. Here is the real pro of course, on her own little WH just like Dad's! That's my leaf vaccum hitched up to the 310-8. My pop and I made it up from a Kubota dump bin, and angle iron. The thing works like a champ, and because of the castor wheels, I can take it up really close to whatever I mow around. It'll pick up the gravel from the driveway if you aren't careful, too. not many pics of the 867, but she's coming along...
kj4kicks 152 #2 Posted September 13, 2007 Hi KP, Welcome to the group! Nice looking herd you've got there. Of course, I really like the 867, since my first was/is a 1077, also from 1967. Eldon.... Keepin' the shiny side up.....
nylyon-(Admin) 7,294 #3 Posted September 13, 2007 Wow, very nice. As for the decals I personally like the newer black background decals. They have a nice contrast to the red. If you were looking for the original red background decals, there is a guy on eBay who sells them. I am thinking of getting a set for the 414-8 in hopes that I can get that painted when the C-120 gets done. You have some nice WH's there and it looks like the kids are enjoing theirs as well. You may want to see if you can reduce the size of the pics, some of the folks here have slower internet speeds and the larger pictures take a long time to download. Thanks for sharing! kpinnc 12,178 #4 Posted September 13, 2007 What resolution? I set it to 640x480 on the photobucket, but I guess I missed something...
nylyon-(Admin) 7,294 #5 Posted September 13, 2007 640x480 would be the best. I'm not sure how photo bucket works, you may need to size them before you upload them.
kpinnc 12,178 #6 Posted September 13, 2007 Never thought of that.... Thanks!
Rollerman 290 #7 Posted September 13, 2007 Like Karl mentioned, there is a guy on ebay that is makeing the newer style decals now & can make differant variations...color...lettering. "vinyleguy" or something along those lines....he's up near Chicago,IL He was at the Riverview show...really good guy. I like the diamond plate running board covers on the 310! Did you make them? Stephen in northern IN....likeing the bling on the 310!
kpinnc 12,178 #8 Posted September 13, 2007 Thanks! My pop made the running boards. He had just finished restoring a Cub Cadet 70 (with hydraulic lift kit, granny gear, and duallies! It's a BEAST), and he said he felt sorry for me. At the time, he worked in a metal shop. Talk about cool toys- they had everything from tIG welders to CAD driven plasma cutting tables. Then he had to go and retire.... We keep threatening one another to a Cub vs. Wheelhorse pull-off, but niether one of us has the guts to loose...

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,507 #10 Posted September 13, 2007 Nice looking restore on that 310 - and I too like the diamond plate running boards. Real nice. That 310 looks better than my '98 314. It sounds like you also have a very nice relationship with your dad, and he is also a very talented guy. As for the pics, I'm using my high-speed connection from work now, so I like them. I might not be saying the same thing this evening when using my dial-up at home. :D
kpinnc 12,178 #11 Posted September 13, 2007 Sorry about the pics for the folks using dial up. I set the resolution to 640x480 prior to using the URL, but it still came through like a billboard. The pictures are from my desktop, and I'm having trouble re-sizing them before uploading them to PhotoBucket. I'll make sure to fix the size prior to putting any more pics up. Sorry about that again...
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,507 #12 Posted September 13, 2007 As for resizing, the wfm site recommends Irfanview and it works pretty good. Here's a link: IrfanView I use it a lot to resize my pictures and it's pretty good.

Here's a link: IrfanView I use it a lot to resize my pictures and it's pretty good. I can vouch for IrfanView, I've used it for years and it'll do anything. Very easy to use to use too. Just another thought, it's not about picture size, it's about file size. I've seen HUGE pictures with a small file size, very big, but grainy. I've also seem little bitty pictures that eat up a lot of hard drive. All kinds of definition, if you have a magnifying glass. Dale

Dale That's what's also good about Irfanview, not only does it resizes the resolution, but also the file size. And it's free. About the only thing negative about it is that I can not use it with my Mac at home. I need to find a good photo resizing program for Mac that's free. Free is good! :D
