dgoyette 12 #1 Posted May 3, 2010 Found this one only an hour away from me. I really do not have room but there was just no way I was not buying this tractor. This tractor has not been restored, it is an all original one owner B-80. I bought it from an older gentleman (just turned 81) because he needed to buy something newer with a step though design and a bagger. He bought it new in July 1977 and provided me with the original invoice as well as all the original paperwork and a 1977 32 page color brochure in mint condition. It was purchased in CT from the L&M Equipment Company. The paperwork was even in the original plastic bag with "owners packet" and the wheel horse emblem on it! It runs really nice - was always garaged. As you can see he took great care of it. All it needs is new fuel lines and a good carb cleaning. The fuel pump also leaks so I will rebuild it. The 8 hp Kohler sounds nice. It came with a very nice cart and an excellent 36" rear discharge mowing deck - both of which were on the original invoice too. I paid $400 and think I got a really good buy. He said he was happy to see someone who appreciates it get it. I told him I would like to keep it for 33 years just like he did! Was there a thread lately regarding fuel pump rebuild kits? I searched and searched but either I dreamed it or am searching incorrectly.

I, too, recall something somewhere here recently about a guy who's making rebuild kits. I think I bookmarked his web site but that's on my computer at work - I'll check for it in the morning. I love B-80's, they are the first Wheel Horse I ever rode on. I am really liking it too. A real pleasure to ride. Are you familiar with the business he bought it from? Not sure how far it was from you. I build this 14 x 16 shed for the horses last year and thought I would have plenty of room. But here is a recent photo with the horses. I am meeting with the town on Thursday to hopefully begin a 12 x 16 building in the backyard for a second stable! This really is a sickness.

I thought it was a thread announcing that the NLA kits are now available again. Maybe it wasn't here but I couldn't find it at MTF either.
dgoyette 12 #13 Posted May 3, 2010 Do you here the sirens?? That's cause you stole that rig!!! That's a beauty!! Nice grab! How's the D coming?? Thanks Gerry! The D is running fine but I need to fix a tranny leak. But it moves just fine with the pump work I did. I have to get into the right motivation because working on the D takes a lot more time and requires a lot more room than the smaller horses. I'm not in any particular hurry but it would be really nice to get rid of that darn leak! Edit: Found the post I was thinking of http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=17321

HankB 16 #20 Posted May 4, 2010 That's a great looking setup. I enjoy seeing tractors that have been rode hard and put up wet get restored and look night and day compared to the "before" pictures. Even more, I like to see equipment that has worked and been cared for so it doesn't need to be restored. Seems like that's what you found and I think it is going to the right owner. I'm pretty sure the entire building was torn down.
