1969 raider 12

Recommended Posts

I went to look at a Raider 12 today. The tractor is in good shape and runs really good considering it hasn't been used much lately. The 36" deck is off of the machine and is in real good shape! It is a rear discharge deck though and I have never seen one. How are these decks? Kevin.

The 36" rear discharge decks are fine though not as common on a Raider 12 as a 42 or 48" decks, :D Rick

Good call Rick!! I wound up buying it. I got the tractor home late tonight and ran the numbers on the deck. It came up as a 1994 42". I went out and measured it. 42 inches. The deal just became a better deal:) Pics are coming.. Thanks Kevin.

I posted pictures on here once before and they came up when you opened the post. How did I do that? :D  Kevin

Like this?

You need to embed the image URL within IMG tags. Easily done using the IMG button above this area where I'm typing.

You also need to choose a smaller size image. When you do that, I'll remove the ones above. As in the words of our former governor (Blago) "These are f'ing huge!"

Thanks for the pictures!

Edit: Never mind about the size. They were huge in the preview but RS resizes them in the actual post.

Glad to help.

I also meant to say "nice tractor." And even nicer deck! I think that is a newer deck because it looks very similar to the one on my '97 314-H. That's the one with the reinforcing bar around the edges to keep it from bending in like you see on the period decks.

Nice clean worker. Looks like someone got tired of misplacing the ignition key?

You got the front hitch which is nice as it was optional on these pre-C unit.

You also have the newer mower deck hitch and a relatively new mower to boot.

Are you sure about the year? I *thought* 1969 would have the wood grain hood stickers but I might be wrong.

Nice horse in any case...

:USA: :D

Thanks guys! I wasn't looking to buy another one yet but my neighbor spotted it on craigs list for $350 and knows I love them. Got it for $300:) It isn't charging currently but I dug through the site and found some good info :D Working on it! The condition of the deck is what made the deal for me. Not knowing much about these tractors yet, I knew the mule drive and deck would fit my 73 Raider 10 that has no deck/mule drive but runs perfect :D This one is running almost as good before tlc!

The chain on the ignition key from what I hear (bought it from the son-in-law of the previous owner) was for one of those black 1" black binder clip things to hang from... It needs new throttle/choke cables, over time when mowing the throttle cable sneeks down- so he would clamp that binder clip on the cable to keep it running. :USA: Lovin this tractor so far :wh:

Tractor 6241. Serial-512760

Deck 78350. Serial-4901197

Good info Kelly. Just found one on ebay for $250.. OUCH! I use armor all often, is there anything better put on a 41 year old seat to protect it? Thanks, Kevin
