HankB 16 #12 Posted May 1, 2010 well i found out its out of trans fluid.what can i use for it cant find type a trans fluid. There has been considerable discussion of this lately. My chart shows that the GT-14 used a Sundstrand transmission. Older ones used Type-A ATF and later ones apparently switch to 10W-30 or 10W-40 engine oil. There is apparently also documentation stating that the older ones could be switched to engine oil if all of the old ATF was removed (by serial changes of oil.) The simplest solution is to see what's in it now and match that. I would guess it has ATF as I think that's what those came with from the factory. Type-A may no longer be available but I seem to recall hearing you can use Dexron. Edit: Here's the other thread: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?...17912&hl=dexron
papaglide 542 #13 Posted May 1, 2010 The service updates at my local ex-wheel horse dealer stated that Dexron II or Mercon ATF is the now recommended tranny fluid for a model GT 14.
