Stainless Hardware

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any great recommendations for stainless hardware. I know I can go to fastenal or the like but does anyone know any great sources at a good price?

I really want to use all stainless on my 702 but don't want to invest $500 in nuts and bolts.

C-Series14

I get mine from ACE. I pretty much have it memorized what I need. The C-Series uses 3 or 4 bolt lengths in a couple sizes so I get some of each with double the washers and nuts to match the bolts. Then several carriage bolts in a couple lengths. Then as I start to put it together, I always end up short on different lengths so it is back to ACE! :D I reuse some stuff like lug bolts, just clean them up. I have plastic Glad containers that I keep them in so I know what I got.

Others may have a etter solution...

Abrown, I get all of my stainless from Mc Master Carr. Reasonable prices and I have it the next day. When I get in a bind, I just pick up what I need at the local hardware store or Home Depot......

Mc Master Carr for me also. You can buy smaller quantiies from them as opposed to MSC.

Lowes , Home Depots, and TSC prices were to high when compared to Mc Master Carr.

I get alot of things from Fastenal myself. Their per piece price is alot better the TSC, Big-R or any of the large lumber yards...

For instance...

one 5/16 SS flat washer at TSC is .49 cents

100 5/16 SS flat washers at Fastenal is $12 and change that is .12 cents each.

Some pros and cons but still cheaper.

I got all my stainless from my local ACE Hardware store.....they were cheaper than McMaster Carr, MSC, Menards, TSC.....etc... I found it hard to believe that they were cheaper, but they were. It's expensive to use stainless, but MAN does it look good. I spent over a hundred bucks just for hardware for my deck and some other visible fasteners when I restored my GT-1642
