Steering linkage

In case you happend to have missed it in the introductions forum, this is the Bronco 14 that belonged to my friends grandfather. My friend bestowed its glory of ownership upon me. I think it is awesome! Others believe me slightly crazier than they thought before.

My dilemma is that I have one rule of mowing in my yard. I don't mow around anything unless it is set into the ground. I have five automobiles, one trailer, and two inoperable lawn tractors (one green, one rusty) all that I move at least once a week.

The Bronco 14 will be a lot easier to move once i have a LH steering linkage with a fully functional connector on both ends.

according to the parts manuals the 1972 Charger 10 and 12 share the same part number with the Bronco 14 steering linkage.

Is there a measurable difference between the 71 and 72 Bronco 14 steering linkage?

Does any one have a serviceable steering linkage they would like to offer me the opportunity to purchase (That would fit the 71 Bronco 14).

When you say steering linkage, are you referring to the tie-rods, item #5-11 in the picture?

If so, I think that all of the tie-rods in that era tractor are the same. Toro replaced the non-adjustable LH, RH rods with an adjustable one so that they would be universal LH or RH, and also allow for toe-in adjustments.

They are still available from Toro.

Part number 78-2900-01

I'm sure one of the members will have a set. They are also frequently found on eBay.

If that is not what you are talking about, let us know.

you guessed correctly Bob the LH (illustration number 5-11) is the piece i need. kinda like a metric crescent wrench. Although in my defense my crescent brand adjustable wrench does say 300mm on the handle.

I'll check Ebay right now, however i am a big fan of keeping money in the proverbial family so if any forum members have one they want t sell i'd buy it from them first.

Thanks Bob
