soofoodude 6 #1 Posted April 23, 2010 Has anybody figured out a faster way to add tranny oil to a 520? Small fill tube seems to take forever to take oil. Would a larger fill tube help or is the port in the top of the tranny just small? Thanks for your help.
mavfreak 11 #2 Posted April 23, 2010 take a small wire and put a hook on the top place in the fill tube then place the funnel in. This allows air to escape from transmission to breath. still have to pour slow but should help

Confused99 2 #4 Posted April 24, 2010 Try leaving the filter loose until the end. Goes alot faster. Jason
Shuboxlover 478 #5 Posted April 25, 2010 Funny you should ask that, I had to put oil in mine today too....got out my funnel, added some oil, waited.....waited.....waited.....waited......waited......waited.......until finally I gave up and pulled the funnel, loosing almost ALL of the oil I dumped down the funnel. So out comes the oil-dri, and me wondering if there was an obstruction or something. It's good to know these things.
refracman 167 #6 Posted April 25, 2010 If you remove one of the bolts that fastens the seat/gas tank mount to the trans this will allow the air out.make sure you clean the area good first though! I use this method,no mess and the trans fills almost as fast as you can pour.
