Drive belt rubs filter.

Recommended Posts

I was taking apart my C-161 Auto tractor today and noticed that the Drive belt to the Hydro transmission is resting on the Transmission filter. It does not seem to have worn anything, but I was curious as to if this was normal. Should the belt be tightend.

I am planning on changing the filter this week and want to make sure it won't be damaged.

Is your parking brake on or off in the picture?

If is off, I would say there is too much play and the belt should be replaced.

If it is on, the belt is loose due to the idler pulley NOT being held tight to the belt.
