Yes thats a definite on the heat shield. Hood latch, motor has been changed out as they did not come with starter-generator. Thats to begin with but you do have a start to a Great Machine. I have a few of them. It all started with my Dads and grew from there. See Ya, Bye Burly :omg:

I will say this you also have the steering wheel we have been recently looking at to see if we can get a center pice made. This actually shows us that that center of that paticular steering wheel was round. Hey Glen are you seeing this. Kelly, Rick did you guys notice this also See Ya, Bye Burly :omg:

Like John said it has the wrong motor, it should be a 14hp kohler with stater/ alternator and its missing the electric clutch, and yes it should have a heat shield. But on the good side you have the 3pt :omg: .

It looks like you also have the wrong size drive pulley on the engine and it could lead to your hydro under preforming.

If your going to be looking for parts let me know I have all the sheet metal parts you might need.

Thanks everyone. As far as the motor its a K301, 12 horse, K321 would have been the 14?

Steve, would you happen to have the heat shield? Also what sheet metal would you recommend replacing?

About the drive pulley.... what should the size be?

So many questions....

what do the hood latches look like? What does the hood hinge look like?

What should I do about the missing PTO?

I need some advice here guys! She's a real neat tractor and definitely NOT a Cub so I have minimal knowledge regarding her!

I kinda liked the idea of the weight of the battery out front.

Nice find. :omg:

I thought about the weight also but I did not like the battery exposed like that. I plan on using the bracket that was there as a front weight bracket when I plow or disc.

Does anyone have an idea where I could find a seat with armrests that would fit this tractor?

Papaglide, Between Steve and myself we could probably build somewhere around three to four GT14's with all the parts and stuff that we have. What he doesn't have I probably do. Here's to wishing you luck. They are a Good Tractor. See Ya, Bye Burly :D

No expert here, but I think you're missing the mid hitch brackets also. Go to the picture gallery and you will find some pic's of GT-14's in the forum for late 60's early '70's tractors. May give you some help.

With the front grill on the GT's you won't need much more weight on the front :omg:

I scaled one of mine for fun, with the tiller on and full of gas it tiped at 1160 lbs And I wasn't even on it ! :D

And then I put the wheel weights on it so it's over 1200 now

Thank you all for the excellent input. I am not sure if I may post this here but now for the hard part:

does anyone have an extra heat shield they would like to sell?

What is the diameter of a proper drive pulley?

Should there be a part of the grill covering the gas tank? On my tractor the tank is exposed. Is this supposed to be that way?

That weight is impressive!! I can't believe the torque on this thing. I was pulling a 5'x9' old school (heavy) trailer with 2 kids on board around the yard and I felt like this tractor would just take off.

I am by no means an expert but I think that this tractor with the 12 horse might out pull my Cub super 1882 with its 18 horse(albeit with an aluminum tranny)

Thanks again.

I have a heat sheild in the garage, the grill is open on the 69 GT14 I have a pair of 69's. I can check on the pulley later and get back to you.

Thanks Duane. That exposed gas tank thing is kind of odd, but if it works!

Can somewhat please give me the correct bolt pattern for the seat? The one on here is kind of rigged to stay on and I am pretty sure it ain't original.

thanks.
