clintonnut 126 #1 Posted April 10, 2010 A school friend referred me to another school kid who had this all original 876. Runs awesome! No smoke or knocks. Hydro strong, good tires no rust. It at one point had bugeyes and a snowplow hitch on the back! Now gone! I'm trying to trace those two parts down. Also came with spare fender pan and an extra seat! Only paid 100 Georges' for it! Does need a throttle shaft bushing which is on its way. Charlie
wheelhorse551 1 #2 Posted April 10, 2010 Nice find! I got a Suburban 551 from a friend that sat in a barn for around 20 years. The tranny was locked up so I had to buy one on ebay. :omg:

TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #11 Posted April 11, 2010 sweet find ,did somebody change the engine pully,it looks bigger than normal The drive pulley groove on the early hydros was around 3 1/2" or 3 3/4" (I can't remember exactly) because of the larger input pulley on the pump. The PTO grooves were still 2 1/2" like the gear-drive tractors.

TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #15 Posted April 14, 2010 YES! It is a 192937 serial number!!! So who owned this tractor Elmer Pond??!! No..... but I did - about 4 years ago. (now you know where the blade and HL-5's went ) I bought it in Bloomsburg as a "package deal" that included the tractor, 36" deck, 42" dozer blade, snowthrower, SMS-425 sickle bar mower, HL-5 light kit, a big box of spare parts, and copies of all the manuals. Glen Cockerham is who bought it from me (which is why it ended up down there in your neighborhood) and that's the last I ever saw of it. Shortly after I got it: The pictures from when I advertised it to sell: I paid a little more than $100 for it, but by the time I was done I had a free dozer blade and sickle bar mower. :omg:
Save Old Iron 1,566 #16 Posted April 15, 2010 TT, is it my imagination or does the tractor blower combo have a bronze tint to the paint? Actually it looks really nice in that shade.
clintonnut 126 #17 Posted April 15, 2010 Technically those things should still be with my tractor!!! Did you spray it down with WD40 when you got it or did you clear coat it? I would really like to have those HL-5 lights. From what my friend told me he bought it because a guy was scrapping horses and this was one of them TT! I think you sold it to a scrap guy! TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #19 Posted April 15, 2010 Dish detergent and quad ought (0000) steel wool followed by Krylon gloss clear. The slight bleed-through of the iron oxide mixed with the red paint does kind of give it a bronze-ish hue when made shiny again. The HL-5's are long gone, Charlie. I had them on my 753 for a while but didn't like them - so I sold them. Glen's internet handle is "red-white dots" and he has been know to part out and sell a few tractors. I have no idea what he did with this one (and the 857 he bought at the same time) after it left my possession. :omg:
