v65animal 0 #1 Posted April 9, 2010 Just brought home the new to me Wheel Horse. I cut the grass when I got home and found a few problems. 1. It was hard to shift 2. Some oil come out from behind the fuel pump 3. Parking brake doesn't work, the Brake itself is fine. Will the local Toro dealer be able to help, or is there a preferred Online retailer? 1. Problem with shifting is the small screw that holds the shift lever in the tranny. The head broke off, so I can't tighten it down. 2. Fuel pump has 1 original screw, the other is too thick. Need to go to Lowe's with the good one and find a match. 3. I took pictures of the parking brake problem, but my camera (or someone) somehow has deleted all the pictures. I'll try to explain. I took the gear shift cover off and it appears that part of the lever is missing that HOLDS the brake in place. Are there any online PDF's showing parts, with the part numbers? I'll take more pictures and load them on another post. Thanks, Sam

Duff 206 #3 Posted April 9, 2010 Hi, Sam, The little screw that holds the shifter in doesn't have a head - it's actually turned using an Allen wrench. It is possible that it broke off where it engages the shift lever, though. Not hard to check or change, and the replacement is both available and inexpensive. For IPL's (Illustrated Parts Lists) for your tractor, go here: https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro .....and enter this number in the search box: 31-16K804 That will give you a list of parts diagrams for the various areas of your tractor and the part numbers. Good luck and keep us posted! Duff :omg:
C-Series14 15 #4 Posted April 9, 2010 If you have the VIN number, you can go to Toro's site and look at parts drawings. Once you have part numbers, there are several online places to order parts. Several of them now have drawings also. I use the following 3 sites to look at parts and have order many parts from SEPW. Manuals: https://lookup2.toro.com/request/request.cfm Parts diagrams: http://www.toro.com/index.html http://www.sepw.com/ http://www.smithfarmandgarden.com/pages/pa...rand/parts.aspx The club's site: http://www.wheelhorsecollectorsclub.com/ If you go to SEPW, you can select "look up parts", then select "Toro Consumer", then put 416-8 in the model number block...
