bo dawg 516 #1 Posted April 9, 2010 Here is the C-175 my father n law gave me for working on 2 of his decks and both of his 520-H's mostly just servicing, getting ready for the season. I had to replace the fuel pump on one of them, and both with fuel, air, and oil filters and spark plugs. One had a bad oil leak and was a mess, couldn't see the frame or bottom of engine from grass clips and dirt from the leaking. So I cleaned all that up by hand. I still have to pull the gas tank from one and clean it out, it has some black particals in it. Thats what screwed the fuel pump up! Total cost I paid out of pocket was $110 for parts. All I got to do now is deliver them which is about 1 hr round trip. Not bad for a running C-175 (tractor only, no deck) which was restored about 5 or 6 years ago always keep in garage. This next pic is with my C-161 another flat top hood that I call'em Next pic is the "group hug" or jammed up garage. Last time that C-175 will be with his cousins 520-H 1 and

bo dawg 516 #5 Posted April 9, 2010 Thank you guy's yeah and it wasn't that hard a work. Worst was just cleaning the oilly one up, which is the one thats in front of the C-175. Well maybe one of the decks was a pain, had a heck of a time putting an edge back on the blades and repairing the tention pully. Probably should have put new blades on it.......nah, what the heck, it cuts great now! I need to run the numbers and see exactly what year the 17 is. I'm guessing an 81 or 82. Now I just I to get a 48" deck for it. :D

tgranthamfd 29 #10 Posted April 9, 2010 Nice score. Looks like your 165 was a twin in another life, did you put the single on it? They look interesting with the red hoods, at least they match. :omg:

Terry the C-165 is really a C-161 by the model#. I bought it this way, somebody else already put the 16hp on it. I guess the BS twin didn't last. The hood is correct cause of the notch for the BS exhaust, but somebody must have put the wrong decal on when they repainted it at some time. Yeah I wondered about my father n law but I guess he luv's me :D

bo dawg 516 #16 Posted April 9, 2010 I've always liked the C's better, never thought I would like the black hoods style. (even though mine are red ) I'm partial to the 70's style hoods, but these are growing on me. I've always wanted this 175 ever since my father n law got it. Now I would like to come into a 195 some day. :D

tgranthamfd 29 #19 Posted April 10, 2010 Very interesting, I didn't know that a black hood could be mated up to the older style dash towers. Is there something special done or just moved the latches?
tgranthamfd 29 #20 Posted April 10, 2010 Never mind, you said that was the correct hood. :omg:
bo dawg 516 #21 Posted April 10, 2010 Yeah, according to the Toro site there was the two hood options and the two fender pans. Although I don't know about the pan if its the original one or not. Oh well...it works. Although I have thought about finding the other style hood since I like them better. :D
