69DEZ 4 #1 Posted March 11, 2008 My progress so far. Still have a lot to do. I scored 2 actuators. Thought about using one for a rear hitch lift and use the other one for the scoop lift. Anyone have any thoughts on mounting the actuator on the front of the tractor? There isn't much room to mount a bar off the frame, it can be done. BUT I don't think there will be enough clearance to get the hood up to put gas in it.
CasualObserver 3,408 #2 Posted March 11, 2008 That looks AWESOME. Nice job! It was like reading a story looking down through the pictures... I thought maybe you were going to replace the springs on the blade with little cylinders to be able to dump it... I didn't see the old school dump coming. That's going to work nice!

kpinnc 11,896 #4 Posted March 11, 2008 Nice work Dez! That's a BIG cylinder. Outta do whatever you need it to! Could you mount it on one side instead of righ in the middle? might save you a bit of room... Kevin
.5racer 14 #5 Posted March 11, 2008 Add a lever to the pipe to pull down on to lift bucket system . Mount to the blade so your trip still wooks. how do I draw on here ?

Nick 13 #7 Posted March 12, 2008 Dez, Great looking scoop and fab work. Cant wait to see it working. Im not sure how the trip springs will handle the scoop but my V-plow was too heavy for 2 springs. You might need to double them up if it is to heavy or maybe even replace them with bars for heavy work. Nick

WheelHorse_of_course 99 #9 Posted March 12, 2008 VERY nice, just what I have been dreaming about for about 9 months! I am unclear about your question. Are we talking about how to "dump" or how to "lift". For dumping you should be able to place the cylinder vertical, you will just need to weld some levers to the pivot rod. I think your side plates should have had an inch overlap with the blade at the back. What type of tractor is this? Almost looks line a vertical? Have fun. Nick 13 #11 Posted March 12, 2008 Looking around youtube last night I found a video of a front scoop test. Looks like he mounted the dump cylinder in the middle with a lever to the pivot bar that runs across the top. I assume the blade already had hydraulic lift, it is green though.
