newbie here! c-165 automatic

just like to say i am a newbie here. i found the site searching wheelhorse. i just came owner of a c-165 automatic black hood today. i also got a 36 inch wh tiller, and a 48 inch wh deck. got all mule drive pulleys, guards, and drive pulleys for tiller and all belts. also got rear hitch, original manuals for all three and original owner warranty cards. will start and run, but smokes a little under load.has the kohler 16hp single on it. needs a new battery and the lift cable for the rear lift. all tin is good but paint is faded from sitting outside. paint isnt even worn off tiller tines yet! i traded an early 90s mtd 46inch cut 18hp opposed twin hydro for it. had about 200 in mtd! looking forward to being a member of a site that deals strictly in wheelhorse knowledge! thanks for letting me join!

Wheel Horses are definitely worth more than MTD's, but you seem to have made out real well! :omg:

sounds like a good tractor you have there there are many here more knowledgable than me about the smoke but when I get something new the first thing I do is check and change all fluids and clean the carb. than go from there

:D You got a good deal . As far as the smoke goes, just try tuning her up. Change oil, new air filter, clean carb. I have C-165 8spd. (84) I like it alot. It has plenty of power and mows very nice to boot. Have fun.... Pat
