Irv 115 #1 Posted March 27, 2010 Got a call from a friend that saw a wheel horse in a big garage full of stuff a guy was getting rid of after his dad passed away. Electro 12 auto with 48" deck and snowthrower. Been sitting about 10 years and supposidly trans is ng. Got it cheap!

Irv 115 #9 Posted March 28, 2010 Thanks guys. Got it fired up with starting fluid but won't stay running, looks like I'll be pulling the carb. The trans is bone dry so I'll have to fill it and see what happens. The guy said his Dad said the trans was broken, maybe he just ran it dry. If it is shot I'll probably put the motor on a C-125 I have and pass the electro parts to whoever needs them. I do wonder if the hydraulic lift will fit on my C-121 auto-anyone know? :omg:

bell 11 #12 Posted March 28, 2010 Irv, I'm not trying to sound like a "know it all", but PLEASE don't use starting fluid. Small engines DO NOT like it. Try carb & choke cleaner, it is MUCH less volatile. Good luck and I'm sure with a good carb cleaning, she'll run like a TOP!
