Going to check out an "unknown" 'Horse tomorr

Recommended Posts

Polaris2007

So I have been playing around with the Farmall Cub that I got from Micah last weekend. I've been riding all around the property, and doing some touch up work...a little sanding, priming and painting. I absolutely LOVE this thing! That being said........I am having 'horse withdrawals though :D So I'm going for a ride with the family tomorrow to check out a tip.... A buddy told me yesterday that he was driving down this road (about 1 hour away from here) and he saw three or four old garden tractors sitting outside this old falling down house. He said one was a Wheel Horse, and it had a plow on it. I have no name, no number, just a general location, and a thirst for another Wheel Horse to drive me onward! He only got a quick look at it as he drove by, but he thinks it is a "C" of some sort, or "something shaped like one" lol. We will see what tomorrow brings..... :omg:

Good Luck!!

That Farmall Cub is sweet but certainly you need a horse! I was over at Micah's yesterday and saw the C-120. Very nice work - what a tractor and I hope we see a another restore soon from you.

Woo Hoo!!!!! My buddy was right....it was a 'Horse, but not a "C' .. It is a 607. I'm guessing maybe 1966?? I found the house where my buddy said it would be. The guy was home, and he came wandering out to see what I wanted. We talked a little business, and the 607 jumped right into the back of my truck! I got a snowplow with it too! When you look at the pictures that follow, look how clean this tractor is. No rust on the frame! It is currently not running, so I will have to rebuild the engine. Should be no problem, it is not stuck, and seems to have good compression. Can anyone look at the pics and tell me what the engine is, and if it is original? I'm really excited about this find. It was not free, but darn close to it! I paid quite a bit less for the tractor and plow than the plow itself is worth!

And to top off the day, on the way back, I spotted the nose of a 'Horse peeking out from behind a shed, so I stopped. It was a C-141 8-speed, I think it was about 1979 or so. I am currently in negotiations with the owner to aquire that 'Horse too!! Woo Hoo great day! Here are the pics....

Nice looking tractor, don't see many 607s. Not rare, as in valuable rare, just more people probably went for electric start or Kohler power. You should have a Tecumseh HH60-105014B engine. You have a Tecumseh on there, why don't you check the numbers on the ID plate on the engine shroud and find out? As far as rebuilding the engine, I'd try to get it running and see if it needs it first. It might surprise you, but probably not.

Extremely clean straight tractor, plus the blade!

The C141 would be a nice piece too. :omg:

Looks like it might be missing a piece (tank tray), but a nice piece to start with!

Interesting blade. Could you post the model number on that?

Interesting blade. Could you post the model number on that?

That used to be a "normal" dozer blade frame and it's been chopped and modified to connect to the sickle bar mower mounting holes in the sides of the tranz mount plate.

Oddly enough, it's not the first one I've seen like that. :omg:

Good catch on the 607....... not many of them around now, or back then.
