TT, I thought maybe thats what it was but it almost looks factory. I noticed the paint missing around the trans plate too. You'd think if they had the ingenuity to modify it like that, they'd just make the original bracket. :omg:

It looks like Jusjeepn is right....I'd say the tank tray is missing. Does anyone know what other years/models share this tank tray? I want to start the search for one now because I have a feeling it will take a while. I assume that the engine mounted tank in the photo is not stock then? :omg:

The tank tray is part number 5458, and is common to most tractors from 65-68. (with the exception of the Lawn Rangers) Finding one will be pretty easy. The motor looks right, and is probably original or at least was replaced with what looks like the right one. On the 6 Hp Tecumseh powered tractors, the tank was the squared off engine mounted one, the tank tray just sat empty.

Post a wanted ad in the classifieds for the tank tray. Like I said, it's a common piece, lots of people have them in their "extra" parts piles. :omg:
