#13 trailer ball mount ideas??

Recommended Posts

Pirate

Just got my first WH A 414-8.

I want to mount a trailer ball on the tractor to move trailers around the property.

Just wondering how others have mounted a ball. I want to retain the orig tow function. (pin)

An e-bay seller with good feedback produces a hitch that mounts to the front of

the tractor. I believe he makes a permanent one and a removable one. He got

tired of turning around to look at his boat trailer so he needed a way to tow from

the front. Now he makes and sells them.

use keywords "wheel horse hitch" when searching e-bay

Thanks for the welcome.

I want a rear hitch, as a few trailers have a fair amount of tongue weight.

Saw one on ebay that bolts on the orig and has a ball above the orig hole mount.

This has my interest. I have a 4x8 light trailer. It would be nice to use it on a GT at times.

Curious to see how others are dealing with this.

I want to make one where I can leave it on, and use either the orig. clevis hitch or ball.

If I put a front one on also, I will just have a ball on that one.

I found a piece from a bolt on auto hitch, and with a lot of heat and a big hammer. I bent up a hitch. Didn,t even drill any holes

After this picture, I found out that the orig. hitch bar (is there a proper name for this piece? I'm new to Horses) was starting to bend under a fair tpngue weight.

I bolted the center link of the chain to the highest hole in the new mount. I bolted the ends of the chain to the bracket that is bolted on top of the transaxel.

I made the chain mount to the bar adjustable, and adjusted it to share the load with the bottom of the orig. bar as it stops on the transaxel.

Have'nt tried it yet. Started raining. Yeah, the rain will make the grass grow and I get to make the maiden cut! Yes, I'm sick. Guess where I caught it? Hint: I've seen some fine WH's on this site.
