Lift Lever Adjustment

Recommended Posts

KC9KAS

While working my 654 with the dethatcher, the lift lever height adjustment knob unscrewed itself and fell off of the tractor, as well as the threaded "L" bolt.

Fortunately, I found both pieces, but I was wondering what can be done to keep this from happening again.

I experienced the same problem while snow plowing this past winter.

Ideas??

I have a few with lock nuts installed on top of the knob not as easy to adjust but won't fall apart

Yeah, I thought of a jam nut, but would have to carry my "save the world" wrench (4" adjustable wrench) all the time.

A lock nut (nylon insert) epoxied to the knob would work, but in time with a lot of use, it will become loose.

On the C-Series, I use the little black plastic cap that goes on the lift lever release button to put over the end of the threaded "L" rod...at least that is what it looks like is on there!!! :omg:

Mike, according to my parts list, that little plastic thingy is actually made for both purposes!
