clevis hitch problems

Recommended Posts

dandan111

I have a clevis hitch kit that I bought a year

or so ago. I decided to install it and ran into

problems with the bushings for the pivit under

the seat. One went on real tight tapping it with

a wood handle and the other broke when tapping

it with a socket. :omg:

I hope the toro dealership can order me a new one.

My question is should these bushings be loose on the pivit

bar and the mounting holes?

Being a new hitch maybe I need to sand it a little

to loosen things up? Seems way to tight to me.

It has been a few years since I installed my new clevis hitch kit on my 310-8,

but I clearly remember that the parts that fit into the seat support needed some

fitting. I used sandpaper on the steel rockshaft and on the bushing cutouts in order to

fit the stuff. Yep sanding will work just test it so you don't sand too far.

Thank you for the reasurance.

I thought nice and snug would

be good, but this is way to tight.

I just hope the bushings are still

able to be ordered seperate.

If you have problems finding the bushings from you dealer most hardware stores will have them. If you run into any trouble finding it let me know and I will mail you one (I have an extra) :omg:

My brother ran into this also when he put the kit on his 2005 Classic GT (315-8). He had to take some emery cloth to some of the new painted parts to get them to fit proper.
