Save Old Iron 1,566 #2 Posted March 24, 2010 big silcks out back, maybe some spinners on those silcks ??
Gene_S 93 #3 Posted March 24, 2010 Looks like a restore to me. As far as the Rat Rods go, your other tractor just has a funky paint job, which is "part" of the definition of a Rat Rod. If you want a Rat Rod check out TT's and Kelly's, them are Rat Rods... :omg:
Kelly 1,029 #4 Posted March 24, 2010 well 854 tractors are kinda a sought after tractor, and that one looks to be very restorable, use scrap parts and used up tractors, but in the end it's yours, and it is just a tractor not a shelby cobra.
jpmcleod 4 #6 Posted March 24, 2010 I would have to restore that baby and rat rod something else.
Roger from southern Iowa 1 #7 Posted March 24, 2010 I'm going to put another mark on the restore column. Like was said earlier, it's your tractor....
sscotsman 148 #8 Posted March 24, 2010 well..since you asked.. personally I cant stand hotrodding or "rat rodding" of anything..tractors or cars.. most of the time they are just hideously ugly, and IMO they totally ruin classic cars and tractors...I suppose if you have a pile of junk that cant be reasonably restored, then I suppose thats fine..(and of course people are free to do whatever they want with their own posessions..Im not not against doing what ever you want with stuff you own..but that doesnt mean I have to like it! So yeah..I choose restore! down with hotrods.. personally, I just hate the whole concept..always have.. Seeing a chopped Ford Model A hotrod brings tears to my eyes.. (and not tears of joy! IMO, its a travesty.. Scot
Coadster32 793 #9 Posted March 24, 2010 Looks like a great restore to me. Seeing pics of your Kriminal, you have great talent, and it might be considered criminal to rat-rod this out. I'd do it if I had three+ hacked up tractors in complete disrepare. Looking at the other rods, they were made from muliple types, and not just one. My $.02. Greg Parnell 6 #10 Posted March 24, 2010 I'd say restore this one since it's very complete.
chevy030303 0 #11 Posted March 24, 2010 <_< to you and to many people are storeing them make it a Gasser style drag rod it would be so kool and that is my $.
JimD 3,345 #12 Posted March 24, 2010 I'm gonna vote for the restore also. It's a classic tractor. It would be a shame to rat rod it, in my opinion, but opinions are like....well, you get the idea. :omg:
Lawn Ranger kid 14 #13 Posted March 24, 2010 My vote would be restore it. Josh

Duff 206 #17 Posted March 25, 2010 Put my vote in the "RESTORE" column! Duff :omg:
Save Old Iron 1,566 #18 Posted March 25, 2010 So yeah..I choose restore! down with hotrods.. personally, I just hate the whole concept..always have.. On this one I agree with Scot, restore it to its original glory as a usable tractor - not something that gets a 30 minute workout once a year on the 4th of July :omg:
Gene_S 93 #19 Posted March 25, 2010 Just wanted to say it looks to be a 63 and not a 64 with the steering wheel that is on it anyways. They used that wheel in 62 and 63 but your hood has the lip on the bottom on the side so that would be 63. Might check the motor to see if it is a K161 and not a K181. whfan74 2,066 #20 Posted March 25, 2010 I would most definitely restore that beauty! Do what makes you happy!
kpinnc 11,887 #21 Posted March 25, 2010 Many of my tractors are modified in some way, and they all seem to meet with approval of the masses- not that it matters to me. It belongs to you, so do with it as you please. That said, I would love to get my hands on a 63-64 round hood for a restore, because there aren't many down here. Until then I'll keep making my tractors look and perform the way I want them to. If someone feels strongly enough about what I should do with them, I'll send a deposit slip for them to contribute to the cause. Good luck with the project regardless of which way you go with it. tgranthamfd 29 #23 Posted March 25, 2010 I would have to restore that baby and rat rod something else. I'm with them. But as Kelly said it is yours. :omg:
WheelHorse_of_course 99 #24 Posted March 25, 2010 down with hotrods.. personally, I just hate the whole concept..always have.. Seeing a chopped Ford Model A hotrod brings tears to my eyes.. (and not tears of joy! IMO, its a travesty.. Scot I have to say I agree with Scott. I have seen some rat rod tractors and cars that I had to admit the creator had every reason to be proud of. So it is not about the owners so much as the concept. I even feel the same way about pullers! Of course I like "workers" best and think most restorations are "too nice" to use. I guess I am old fashioned! ANd I do agree to each is own, do what makes you happiest! :omg:
bustedglass 1 #25 Posted March 25, 2010 Its your tractor, and you are free to do whatever you want with it. But since you were so nice as to ask, I have to agree with the group, when I say - RESTORE IT !!! :omg:
