Roger from southern Iowa 1 #2 Posted March 19, 2010 A friend has a Springfield. I'm not sure what model. You might check the numbers on the engine. It would give you a idea of year, if the engine is original. They are well build machines. Does yours have white fiberglass fenders and hood? How about a pic or three? :omg:
CasualObserver 3,408 #3 Posted March 19, 2010 Is it red/white with a vert shaft engine or orange/white with a horizontal shaft? A picture is in this thread of an orange/white one. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5604 And here's the red/white earlier model
Roger from southern Iowa 1 #4 Posted March 19, 2010 Jason, that's a lot earlier version than the one my friend has. Cute tractor!

CasualObserver 3,408 #6 Posted March 19, 2010 Cool. Springfields were made by Quick Manufacturing of Springfield Ohio . They also had earlier little lawn mower models (somewhere I have a scanned ad, I'll see if I can find it.) tillers and two wheeled garden tractors. Yours should be between a 62-64 model. If I remember right, the orange ones were 65-66 and then the line was sold to Toro. Edit... found the ad I have... this is from the mid-late 50s.
