I gave up on my swiss cheese rear discharge deck and managed to find a nice solid side discharge. I've been cleaning, sanding, priming, sanding this in my spare time for about the last month. Finally put the red stuff on. Came out pretty good. Looks better in person. Time to upgrade my camera. Got to get this deck finished because the grass is starting to grow already. What happened to winter??

Look great ! Did you air spray or aerosol can it? And are you going to use something different for the under side, in regards to durability ?

Stripped all the old paint off, wire brushed and sanded, used Rustoleum rusty metal primer on some of the previously surface rusted areas, sanded that and then used two more coats of automotive primer. Wet sanded in between with 220 grit and final sanded with 400 grit. Sprayed Rustoleum Tractor and Implement IH Red rattle can for finish. Sprayed one light coat, waited an hour, sprayed another coat, and later a third coat. Underside I used POR 15. Now I'll go thru the spindles and get all the rest of the hardware cleaned and painted. Sharpen up my blades, put some new decals on and I'll have a good as new deck. :omg:

That POR 15 is great stuff isn't it. I've used it quite a bit.

Steve: If it gets better than that - it's only becasue someone else did it for you!

Great looking. I have used the POR-15 on the bottom surface of two mower decks. I used the clear and coated it twice and than used the hardened paint that the POR-15 folks sell. The surface is like a rock.

I am buying the stuff now in smaller pint cans and I am trying out some of their gloss black to finish off my Wheel Horse garden plow, disc and cultivator rest :omg: orations.

SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!

Mines as brown as a beaver yet :omg::D

The only hint of green I have is where the snow (alot) was sitting for 3 months during one of the coldest winters we have had in decades!!!!!

Great Job! :omg: Your hard work will make it last. I used POR15 on the bottom of my deck and it is amazing! So smooth and durable.
