310-8 put to work

WH'ers:

Though you might want to take a look at my 310 removing the top layer of soil so

I can lay gravel for a patio. Used a homemade spike-ripper thing to loosen the

dirt, and the dozer blade to scrape off. A solid link on the dozer lift handle allows

downpressure, though it may not be the kindest thing on the machine.

The tow bars were made from an old gas grill, the platform made from leftover lumber,

and the spikes are 9" (I think) barn spikes. The hitch part of the tow bars were made

from and old bed frame, which by the way, is incredibly hard to drill! A bag of tube

sand from the back of my truck (better not snow anymore!) and she's got just

about the right amount of weight.

I dont know what that stuff is, but it eats bandsaw blades as well as drill bits!

Looks like you had fun!

Thats some good home grown ingenuity! :omg:

I worked on clearing some sod & top soil for a block patio I didn't finish last fall yesterday.

My D160 & box scraper made quick work of it.

Nice use of what you had on hand to make the attachment! Sounds like it did the job and looks like you had a good day. After all everyone knows that dirt + WH = fun.

I did much the same with my driveway last year and spread 28 or so yards of gravel.
