What's on yours now, Ben? It should have an oval tag riveted to the generator case. That will tell you the model number.

It's the same S/G as the 1045, 1055, 1056, etc.

Do you need the Delco - Remy numbers, Ben?

I can get them off my 1056 if you just want to know what it is or need to order parts.

The Kohler P/N is B-275703, but -- as you probably already know -- it's no longer available.

I have two of them, (that I can find) Ben.

One is off of a 701 -- Model # 1101933 / Serial # 1A10

The other is off of a 753 -- Model #1101933 / Serial # 2016

They both have 6" cases and bearing oilers on both ends.

My 1056 has a 7" case and the model # is 1101973 / serial # 6A 3. It does not have the oilers.

Were you just trying to find out who made it, (they're all Delco - Remy) or do you need to work on it too?

Older automobile starter/alternator repair shops can get parts and/or repair these units.

Does the 953 S/G have a 6" long case? (just curious if it's a smaller one. )

The 1045 should be the same as my 1056 -- according to Kohler.
