Polaris2007 4 #1 Posted March 8, 2010 Today I drove about 50 miles to get this 1972 Bronco 14hp Hydro. I had so much fun restoring my 1977 C-120 8-speed with my three sons, that we decided to do another one, and this will be the one. The engine runs decent, but will need a complete rebuild as it has lot's of hours on it. The hydrostatics are acting funny, and that system will have to be gone through. I will describe the symptoms and seek your collective advice on this aspect, because I have ZERO experience with hydros. Looks to me like the engine might be electronic ignition? I see no front "Tach-a-matic" is this normal for this tractor? Also the seat is a replacement, and is missing the mount springs. The snow blower needs to be cleaned up and painted, but it appears to be all there, and functional. I'm really excited about this tractor, and anxious to get started. I hope you guys will be as helpful on this project as you were on the C-120! thanks guys.....Jon H. Attached Image

Horse Fanatic 49 #5 Posted March 8, 2010 Looks like a great restore candidate. Even has wheel covers!
Gene_S 93 #6 Posted March 8, 2010 Nice looking Bronco!!! The tractor didn't have the front "Tach-a-matic till 73 I believe. You can make brackets to mount one if you want to use a newer mowing deck. I believe TT had a post on making one. Good luck with the restore and have fun! B)
DMK855 15 #7 Posted March 8, 2010 Looks like a real good prospect!! I understand the bug too........ I brought home two WH's that I had stored at my grandparents for 15 plus years at Thanksgiving, and now have bought 2 more WH's since!! Takes me from 0 tractors here to 4 WH's and a Porter Cable in less than 4 months!!! B)
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #8 Posted March 8, 2010 No Tach-A-Matic front hitch, no hood stripes, push/pull control cables, and solid state ignition, huh...... I think you'll find that you have a 1971 Bronco 14. B)

rickv1957 72 #10 Posted March 8, 2010 The tractor didn't have the front "Tach-a-matic till 73 I believe. The frame bracket for the front tach o matic was installed on the 72 models but not used,Rick
