D.LaMunion 0 #1 Posted March 7, 2010 Today i went and looked at 3 wheel horses, a 1967 1057, 1969 raider 12, and a 1972 800 special, all in pretty good shape, other than the 800 special doesnt run. i was wondering how much you guys think all 3 would sell for in a package deal? TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted March 7, 2010 B) I can't see them from here. Does the seller have a price in mind?
fireman 1,021 #3 Posted March 7, 2010 I'll help you out! I paid $250 for my 67 1077 and it ran good and came with a deck and snow blower. I've seen raider 12s around here go for around the same $250. There was just an 800 for sale in this area for around $300. These are all running and in decent shape. With that said, I would make an offer of $500 and work from there. I wouldn't go higher than $700. At that price they better be in real nice shape. This is just my $.02 and the prices are based on the New England area. rickv1957 72 #4 Posted March 7, 2010 I agree with fireman, nice tractors 5 or 6 hundred ballpark,Rick
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #5 Posted March 7, 2010 You guys baffle me...... How in the heck can you GUESS a value on something you can't even see? You don't even know if it's a private seller or a dealer - which usually makes a huge difference. My two cents: The cheaper you can get them, the better off you are. If those three tractors were mine, you wouldn't buy them for less than $1000. Let's try something... take that $1000 to your nearest big box store...Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, any of those or others, and see what you can take home for one grand...maybe, if you're not to particular, a cute little plastic throw-away... On second thought, if they were mine, (and I'm like TT...I can't see them either, but I pretty much know what Wheel Horse tractors look like) , I wouldn't sell them for less than $1250. Kelly 1,029 #7 Posted March 7, 2010 Site unseen I start at $50 each complete, more if they run good, I buy tractors all the time I don't even post most of them I pick up, $100 is a going price unless I really want it, or know I can make a buck later, or has parts I want or need, I guess it's all up to you how bad you want them or need them, I have a few really nice tractors I'd love to get $300 each out of them but I know it won't happen, it's your money, as TT said cheaper is better, start low you can't offer less after you make a offer. wheel horse 1045 2 #8 Posted March 7, 2010 i agree ,cheaper is better B)
JimD 3,345 #9 Posted March 7, 2010 I think the point here is that the Op asked for opinions. He got a lot of good ones. He also said HE went and looked at them, so it's not like he's goin in blind. With the suggestions given, and the fact that he has seen them, he now has some ideas where to start. It's kind of hard to post pictures of someone elses tractors. Permission needs to be given. Would it put you off if someone wanted to post pics of your tractors for the purpose of asking for the value? B)
rickv1957 72 #10 Posted March 7, 2010 all in pretty good shape, I Had a base price going off what was stated (all in pretty good shape),if they are in that condition 500.00 isnt a bad price IMO which was ask,not to say cash talks but a good condition wheelhorse is worth more than pocket change,Rick
baerpath 517 #11 Posted March 7, 2010 Derick Lots of horses in our area, if you like them and can live with the price go for it. Duane
D.LaMunion 0 #12 Posted March 7, 2010 I will try to get pictures of them soon. All look to be in good shape, and the guy is a private seller, his father died not to long ago and he wants to get rid of them, thank you all for your 2 cents.
fireman 1,021 #13 Posted March 7, 2010 I'll always agree that cheaper is better. But then again I don't screw anyone over and sneak away saying to myself, I stole that from them. I will give someone fair price for what something is worth especially if I am in a better off position financially than they are. May not be the American way, but it's my way and the way I was raised! Always remember "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Here endeth the lesson B)

GlenPettit 1,716 #24 Posted March 8, 2010 Derek: It's what it's worth to you. Some collectors really like (and will pay) for one series or model, and may want to avoid other models. Also; BE SURE TO LOOK AROUND and to ASK what else they have to go with the Wheel Horses
DOC in Kentucky 178 #25 Posted March 8, 2010 Wow , it seems we go thru this all the time. Bottom line, They are worth whatever you or someone else are willing to pay for them. My 2 cents worth
