B-80/C121 Auto Transplant

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I need some opinions from the experts. Couldn't find any so I thought I would post here. (Just kidding, boys)! B)

The questions is.........Will the 4 speed rear end of an early to mid seventies B-80 fit w/o mods in the rear of my C-121 Auto along with the B-80's brake and clutch pedals and the linkage?

I know I know. It's an odd marrage but that's what i'm working with. I say the same statement about my IQ when it's brought up.

I have a nice gentleman about 50 miles from my front door with a B-80 he would part with and my C-121's hydro is going to need rebuilt. Good motor, Good electrical, Good tin, bad rear!

Thanks in advance!

It's definitely something that can be done, but not in an hour or two.

It would be much easier if the donor tractor was of the "same design" as the C-121 though.

Would a tranny from a C-161 fit? I've got an automatic from a parted C-161.

Thanks Guys.

Terry. I knew you would have an answer for me. I thought the same as I've been trying to find a doner C series but can't come up with one. Hope your enjoying the weekend in your part of Centre County!

Robert. Your hydro rear would probably fit right in there but.........Maryland is a ways off unless you could ship it to me. That's about 150 lbs of rear end if not more. I have a truck dock at work and can give you a FedEx Freight or UPS LTL number to ship it to me but I know it's not what most folks want to deal with.

Your solution is the easiest if that rear is good but it's the logistics of it. (And the miles too)!

I may just have to part with the whole thing. I have a policy since I moved back in 2008. If I don't use it.......I loss it. Terry that's a hint for a really good K301! B)

Thanks again for the response!
