Wheel Question

Hi all-

Came across another 1973 No-Name 8 and it's a 4-speed with the smaller rims. It has 20" tires on the back and the 6" rims on the front axle.

I have a B-80 parts tractor. Can I swap the rims/tires over to the 8 without any issues? It appears there is ample fender clearance and the spindles use the same 3/4" ID bearing, and are the same length.

I'd like to swap in a cradled K301 I have and want to use the 23x8.50-12 tires on the back and the 16x6.50-8s on the front of the "8" as it becomes a "12" in time.

If you swap in a shaker mount engine you will have to mount it soild some how I've seen a few ways weld blocks in, plate steel, ect.... but the belt guard mounts to the engine on that tractor and will rip it right off if you just bolt it up and don't mount the engine solid.

What is the difference between a shaker and a solid mount?

This NN-8 4-spd has a cradled K181 which appears to be factory - the tractor is completely stock.

Maybe it was a later 1973 model. I was surprised to see a cradled engine in it.

I'll post photos tomorrow.

Thanks for the input in the rim swap. When things seem to be that easy, they usually aren't !! Good to hear it's straightforward.... for once... !
